Breast Health

Why not take some quality time away from your normal routine to make the most of your assets?

Pamper

We all love to treat ourselves to a relaxing facial or pedicure, so why not do something for your bust too? Simple cleansing and moisturising will keep your skin supple and soft, but for an extra special treat we recommend that you try some aromatherapy massage. Just mix three drops of your favourite essential oil with a base oil and apply after bathing - we like Lavender or Ylang Ylang to relax and any citrus-based oil to revitalise. Get to know your bust

Whilst you are pampering yourself it makes sense to check your breasts at the same time. Most women's breasts are a little bumpy naturally so don't worry if they don't feel completely smooth. The important thing is to get to know what they feel like so that you notice any changes. The best way to examine your breasts is to keep your fingers together and use the flat of your fingers and palm to feel every part up to the collarbone, into the armpit and behind the nipple. Remember that most changes are nothing to worry about but it's a good idea to get anything unusual checked by your doctor.

Tone

We're not going to suggest to you that exercises will perform miracles, but gentle stretches can aid in strengthening the ligaments in the breasts and help to lift your bust.

However, finding a bra that fits correctly is not only vital for a great look and feel but also to maintain good breast health.

The main reason why badly fitting bras can be a concern for breast health is because they may restrict the lymph flow in your breasts. There are many lymph pathways and lymph nodes surrounding the breast tissue (toward the armpits, under the breasts, and in between the breasts). If a bra is too tight and cuts into your skin, some of the lymph fluid might be unable to do what it is supposed to do, namely washing waste and toxin away from the breast tissue. In fact, sometimes when you find a lump in your breast, it may be filled with lymph fluid that was not able to move away from the breast tissue.

Recently, more scientific research has been done on this subject, and the current health recommendation is to make women aware that they should not wear badly fitting bras.  They should have their bra fitted by an experienced bra fitter.  Each time you need a new bra, you should be re fitted as our bodies change and rarely stay the same.

Other health concerns connected to poorly-fitted bras are back pain, muscle tension, headaches, and ill fitting bras can be responsible for poor posture.
